John Vanausdall announcing Purchase AwardWe are thrilled to present this special pictorial update from Quest for the West 2011 held at the beautiful Eiteljorg Greg's first thank you's

Museum on September 9th & 10th. 

Greg was deeply honored to receive the Harrison Eiteljorg Purchase Award.  Greg's sculpture, "Walkara - Hawk of the Mountains"  was selected by the Museum as the piece they would purchase from the show to add to the permanent collection.   The first casting of "Walkara - Hawk of the Mountains" will be on display in the Museum's AGreg and Stephen Jonesrt of the American West Gallery along with other original works by notable artists including Russell and Remington.

 Attendance at Quest was up twenty-five percent over last year.  With artists coming from twenty-two states plus Canada, forty-three of the fifty artists showcased were present.  The moving retrospective on George Hallmark's paintings was unveiled on Friday afternoon.  Cathy Smith one of the leadingJicarilla Mustang at Quest historians on Western and American Indian clothing and culture gave a fabulous presentation on Saturday.  The sale opened on Saturday evening with a packed Gallery.  After $913,385 in sales to kick start the show we adjourned to the Banquet and Awards Ceremony.   It continues to be an honor and blessing to be a part of Quest and to be showcased with such a fine group of professional artists.
