QUEST FOR THE WEST 2011
Harrison Eiteljorg Purchase Award
"Walkara - Hawk of the Mountains"

~ September 2011 ~
We
are thrilled to present this special pictorial update from Quest for
the West 2011 held at the beautiful Eiteljorg

Museum on September 9th & 10th.
Greg was deeply honored to receive the Harrison Eiteljorg Purchase
Award.
Greg's sculpture, "Walkara - Hawk of the Mountains" was selected
by the Museum as the piece they would purchase from the show to add to
the permanent collection. The first casting of "Walkara -
Hawk of the Mountains" will be on display in the Museum's A rt
of the American West Gallery along with other original works by notable
artists including Russell and Remington.
Attendance at Quest was up twenty-five percent over last year. With
artists coming from twenty-two states plus Canada, forty-three of the
fifty artists showcased were present. The moving retrospective on
George Hallmark's paintings was unveiled on Friday afternoon.
Cathy Smith one of the leading
historians on Western and American Indian clothing and culture gave a
fabulous presentation on Saturday. The sale opened on Saturday
evening with a packed Gallery. After $913,385 in sales to kick
start the show we adjourned to the Banquet and Awards Ceremony.
It continues to be an honor and blessing to be a part of Quest and to be showcased
with such a fine group of professional artists.

Reserve the date for next year ~
September 8th & 9th, 2012
