Title:
"She Hung the Moon"
- (1) for Christmas
Description:
For the beauty of good horses,
cowgirls, and a moon-lit night . . .
This is a piece with a purpose.
It was sculpted in the spirit of giving . . . to give back to those
who sacrifice their lives to protect our freedoms. We must
honor them and thank them.
This horse head hat rack is
the third piece in Greg's hat rack series. It has a few new
features to accommodate a larger brim. What a great place to
hang your hat!
I have my own brand that I
hope to see running on my daughter's stock someday (now on my son's
as well.) I believe a stockman's brand has that kind of
future...
The Pitchfork has a good reputation
for great horses. The hours the cowboys put on them are
invaluable. They deal with the colts in cowboy fashion -
nothings a big deal; it's all just part of it.
When dealing with
bulls,
there is no changing their minds for any length of time. It's
not just the bulls that mark a certain path and grow into their name
and nature, but also the men that work them. Both can be
described as surly at times and most definitely set in their ways.
Cuttin' calves off mammas or sortin'
the herd has long been part of working cattle. Today the
popular sport of cutting has refined this part of ranch work down to
a fine science with artistry of movement and cow sense.
When cattle ship in from the warmer
weather of Mexico and Texas to the much cooler early summer weather
on the cattle permits in the Colorado Rockies, they can fall sick
and require a little tending to. . .
Every cowboy searches the horizon,
looking for livestock, trying to decipher who the figures are that
are riding his way, or just looking out over his spread wondering
what is yet to come.
The classic event of Rodeo - saddle
bronc riding - is one buckin’ business! Over the years Stock
contractors have bred and raised bucking horses to develop the best
buckers possible...
